In April 2019 we went back to Tremor Festival (S.Miguel, Açores) to document a special project for the opening of the festival.Invited for the 6th edition of Tremor Festival, the artistic collective Ondamarela directed a project of social inclusion through music, which explores the relation of participants with sound and space.Over 10 days, the Deaf Association of São Miguel Island and the Rabo de Peixe Music School rehearsed for the opening show of the festival.Together on stage in a thrilling concert, they created a unique experience that only the energy of music can provide.

The relation between

people, sound and spaces

"We can see, visualize and feel together with the listeners"

- Rodrigo Furtado (Associação de Surdos da Ilha de S.Miguel)

Social inclusion through music

Tremor is a chance to celebrate music and bring new sounds and inspiration to people. Through this project in particular, and the collaboration of Ondamarela and Fundação Galp, the scope of people reached by sound has become much broader, going beyond physical barriers or limitations. Listeners and non-listeners alike were able to experience music together, through vibration, sound and a shared experience.

"In the beginning, the idea of vibration was to inject life and movement into a stagnant place"

- António Pedro (Festival Tremor)
